Caroline A Gaudioso

Caroline Anne Gaudioso, 89, of Myrtle Beach, SC and formerly of Newburgh, NY, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Myrtle Beach Estates with her loving family by her side. Born July 26, 1927, in Manhattan, New York, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo Clyde and Roseanne (Westerman) Carter. Caroline was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Newburgh, NY. An avid lover of animals, reading, bowling, gardening, and crossword puzzles, Caroline's children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and extensive friends benefited from the generous spirit that she was. Knowing what it meant to do without, she always sought to help those in need, often opening her home to friends and families who needed a roof over their heads or a meal at the kitchen table. Caroline managed both to raise eight children and worked outside of the home, including working at Mueller Dairy in New York City, Lloyd's Shoe Department in Newburgh, and it was as a Nurse at Horton Hospital in Middletown, NY, where she met her loving and devoted husband, Frank, when he was her patient. She retired from John Herbert Company and enjoyed spending her retirement working at Fox and Hounds Antiques. Her adoring family includes: devoted husband, Frank Gaudioso of Myrtle Beach; beloved sister-in-law Gloria Diamonti and husband Patrick; son, Christopher Gale of Walhalla, SC; daughter, Nancy Hanlon and husband, Tom of Palm Coast, FL; son, Philip Gaudioso and wife, Sandy of Newburgh, NY; son, Steven Gale and wife Lori of Walhalla, SC; daughter, Elizabeth Stewart and husband, Cory of Newburgh, NY; son, Frank Gaudioso and wife, Jodi of Newburgh, NY; daughter, Barbara Greene and husband, Michael of Myrtle Beach; daughter-in-law Nori Gale of Anderson, SC; daughter-in-law Debra Doxsey of Newburgh, NY; 25 grandchildren: Thomas Hanlon III and wife, Amanda, Christina Testa and husband, Michael, Philip Gaudioso Jr. and wife, Guadalupe, Séan Gale and husband, Ed Weber, Christian Gale, Max Alfonzo, Al Alfonzo, Karina Vadoulias, Brandon Gale and wife, Heather, Cara McCall and husband, Joseph, Gena Gale, Melissa Johnson and husband, Cory, Danielle Stewart, Austin Stewart, Justin Santiago, Amanda Santiago, Santino Gaudioso, Giorgio Gaudioso, Alex Mangot, Corey Catabay, Nicholas Catabay, Sean Greene, Patrick Greene, Ryan Greene and Ciara Greene; and 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Caroline is preceded in death by her son, Douglas James Gale and first husband, Clarence (Bud) Leslie Gale. Calling Hours will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet. A Prayer Service will be held at 5:00 PM and the family will receive friends immediately following the service. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016, at 12 noon at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach.
