Carolyn James Daniels

Conway…Carolyn Daniels, age 78, wife of Harry Winfred Daniels, Sr., passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019. She was born in Conway, a daughter of the late McKeaver James, Sr. and the late Eloise Roberts James. She was also predeceased by a grandchild, Cristen Nichole Daniels, and two brother-in-laws, James Milton Daniels and Wayne Phillips. Mrs. Daniels was saved at an early age and loved to serve her Lord. She was a member of Grand Strand Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for the four-year olds and was the nursery coordinator. The ministries she served included "The Youth Ministry" alongside Ray Holland, the Ladies Ministry Adams Rib, which she was president of for the first two years, and the Saints Alive Ministry for the senior adults. She was chosen GSBC 1984 Mother of the Year. Mrs. Daniels worked for Conway National Bank for over 32 years as an Assistant Loan Administration Officer. She served her community in many capacities by working with the Mothers March of Dimes, where she served as the Horry County Chairman, and by being an active member of the Conway Jaycettes, where she was chosen "The Jaycette of the Year" in the late sixties. She enjoyed crafts and genealogy research, but her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were at the top of her list. During her later years, Mrs. Daniels was unable to attend church but she continued to study her Bible, pray fervently and write letters and cards of love and support to those she cherished. She served as an example of love and faithfulness. Her goal was to be a Proverbs 31 woman- Her children arise and call her blessed. Along with her husband of Conway, she is survived by three sons, Buddy Daniels (Sheila) of Conway, Greg Daniels (Jeanie) of Longs, and Bradford Daniels (Jacqueline) of Conway; one daughter, Margie Daniels Johnson (Marty) of Conway; nine grandchildren, Cassy D. Coronado (Dave), Caroline D. Cauble (Jerred), Kassie Strickland (Antonio), Amber Schilberg (David), James G. Daniels II (Lauren), Jared T. Daniels (Ali), Jacob D. Johnson, Ethan N. Johnson, and Annaliese Daniels; seven great-grandchildren, Catherine and Kylie Cauble, Gunter and Ryleigh Strickland, Leah Schilberg, Aiden Schilberg, and Amelia and Macy Rae Daniels; one brother, McKeaver James, Jr. (Mary) of Conway; and two sisters, Hilda J. Johnson (Grant) of Conway and Saundra J. Phillips of Murrells Inlet. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Grand Strand Baptist Church with Dr. Freddie Young officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
