Edwin Alexander Herian

Edwin Alexander Herian, 87, of Murrells Inlet passed away peacefully Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born February 07, 1930 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Alexander Jack and Josephine Operchal Harrian. Edwin is preceded in death by two sons, Eddie Dean Herian and Ted Alexander Herian; three brothers, Edward Harrian, Joseph Harrian and Bernie Harrian and one sister, Dorothy Romance. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Ann Herian of Murrells Inlet, SC; three sons, Ronnie Lee Herian of Dunnellon, FL; Jackie Parker Bourne, Jr of Myrtle Beach SC; and Ronald Eugene Bourne and his wife Beth of Greer, SC; three brothers, Ted Harrian and his wife Anne of Painted Post, NY, Alex Harrian and wife Marcia of Savona, NY and Steven Harrian and wife Patricia of Bradford, NY and one sister Virginia Radka and friend Bernie Oog of Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. As a master electrician he owned the Palmetto Electric Co and worked at three Air Force bases before retiring in 1992. Edwin was a member of the American Legion, Moose International, and the Retired Men’s Bible Study Group at Surfside Presbyterian Church. He also enjoyed playing golf, fishing and gardening. Most of all, he served his Lord and loved his family. During the 60s and 70s Edwin served as the Chief of Rescue at the Myrtle Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad. He was a CPR instructor and taught first aid and CPR to Horry County emergency medical technicians. He also served as a captain in the Myrtle Beach Volunteer Fire Department. For 17 years, he held the “Eddie Herian Polski Special Golf Tournament “with the proceeds presented to the Horry County Children’s Home for abused and abandoned children. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Surfside Presbyterian Church, 8732 US Hwy 17 Bypass S, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 AM before service at the church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Conway SC with Military Honors.
