George Melton Kyzer

Conway… Mr. George Melton Kyzer, age 95, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born January 1, 1930 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Jacob Quincey and Etolia Taylor Kyzer. Mr. Kyzer proudly served in the US Navy. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Conway. Along with his parents, Mr. Kyzer was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Margie Wright Kyzer, his son, Brian Steve Kyzer, and his three siblings, Myrtle K. Spigner, Jacob Kyzer, and Mary Helen Shuler. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Jan Metts-Kyzer; three children, Pamela K. Anderson (Ernest), Gayle K. Fanshaw, Marty Kyzer (Pat); seven grandchildren, Jamie Lundy (Krystal), Shane Lundy (Pee), April Steinfield (David), Allison Ziegler (Aaron), Brian Kyzer (Lauren), Orrie Landon Kyzer (Jenny), Bryant Quincy Kyzer; a daughter in law, Sheila Kyzer; three step children, Martha Davis (Jody), Connie Purinton (Gary), and Steven Metts (Laura); eight step grandchildren, Ernest L. Anderson, Jr. (Rachel), Lindsey Galloway (Grayson), Abby Morris (Dillon), Katie Parrish (Phillip), Gracie Davis (Zach), Sarah Purinton, Nathan Anderson, and Michael Metts; and many nieces and nephews and other extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 31, 2025 at First United Methodist Church in Conway with Rev. Kyle Randle officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Hillcrest Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM, at the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the AMAZING staff and caregivers at Brookdale in Conway for their compassion and love for our sweet daddy during his entire stay at Brookdale and to the staff of Agape Hospice and Ms. Marquita Cox for their wonderful care.
