Conway.......Helen Rosemary Bottomley passed away after an illness on September 24, 2018 at the age of 75 in Conway, SC. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, step-mother, aunt, and friend. Her great loves in life were family, animals and flowers and she tried to surround herself with all of them as often as she could. Rosemary was born on June 9, 1943 in Conway, SC and was the daughter of the late James H. Rhodes and the late Mary Franks Rhodes of Conway, SC. She was a 1961 graduate of Conway High School. She was a successful business woman and was well respected among her peers in the workplace. Rosemary began her career as a Girl Friday at the Federal Credit Union at the US Air Force Base in Myrtle Beach, SC. Soon after, she moved to Hilton Head Island, SC with her husband, Jack Montgomery, and became an island icon in the time share industry. She was involved with many organizations and groups on Hilton Head Island in the hospitality and service community and gave selflessly of her time and talent. She retired as CFO from Vacation Time of Hilton Head in 2014 after 37 years of working with the business leaders on Hilton Head Island. Rosemary was predeceased by two husbands - Jack Montgomery and Woodrow Len Bottomley. She was the 5th of 6 children. She is survived by two sisters-Jo Singleton and her husband, Bobby of Conway, SC, Kathleen Davis and her husband, Reed of Shelbyville, TN, and one sister-in-law, Florence Rhodes of Conway, SC as well as her best friend, Sandy Wallace of Hilton Head Island, SC. Additionally, she had two brothers, Sam F. Rhodes of Conway, SC and John H. Rhodes of Myrtle Beach, SC and a sister, Carolyn Atwood of Petaluma, CA who all predeceased her. Although Rosemary had no children of her own, she had seven step-children and many nieces and nephews whom she was very close to and who loved her dearly. Her smile and loving nature will be missed by all who knew her. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
