John Perry Hardee

Obituary for John Hardee Aynor...John Perry Hardee, III, age 67, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hardee was born in Conway, SC, a son of the late John Perry Hardee, Jr. and the late Ida Gertrude Johnson Hardee. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother; Kenny Hardee. He was a US Army veteran that proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. While enlisted in the US Army he was a Military Policeman. Mr. Hardee loved working with milling machines and lathes, making parts for obsolete equipment. One of his favorite hobbies was restoring old tractors and building garden tractors to compete in tractor pulls. He enjoyed watching TV, especially Fox News. Mr. Hardee attended Aynor Christian Church. He was a graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Teaching and taught high school in Horry County and taught Machine Technology at Williamsburg Technical College in Kingstree. Survivors include; his wife of 11 years, Dianne Blackmon Hardee; two daughters, Tara Hardee Devers and husband Troy of Murrells Inlet, Lori Hardee of Greenwood, SC; a step-son, Nicholas "Nick" Blackmon and wife Korenne of Galivants Ferry; a step-daughter, Nichole Blackmon of Aynor; three grandchildren, Walker, Lawson, and Emme Devers; a step-grandson, Wyatt Boyd Blackmon; four brothers, Larry Hardee and wife Jeanne of Aynor, Jerry Hardee and wife Lill, Ricky Hardee, Mike Hardee and wife Donna all of Conway; a sister, Brenda Sessions and husband Dock of Conway; a sister-in-law, Beverly Hardee of Conway; a special friend, "Fat Mike" Hardee; 10 nephews and 4 nieces. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Trent Hardee officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
