Lenn "Slim" Edward Doyle

Obituary for Lenn Doyle Dateline...Conway Lenn Edward "Slim" Doyle, age 87, passed away Sunday, January 03, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Doyle was born in Loris, SC, a son of the late William Henry and Hattie Beulah Sarvis Doyle. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Aynor, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Jim, Jay, Rev. W.H., Jr., Rev. Ben, and Clyde Doyle. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mary D. Harrelson, Eunice D. Smart, Cordelia Doyle, and Frankie D. Forrest. Mr. Doyle was previously employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad for fifteen years and the Owner/Operator of Doyle's Service Station for more than 25 years. He also served as an Horry County Police Commissioner for more than eight years, and was a lifelong farmer. Mr. Doyle was a devoted and loving Father and Grandfather, especially cherishing his three daughters. During his spare time he enjoyed fishing and NASCAR. Mr. Doyle is survived by his three daughters, Susan R. Doyle, Shauna D. Hughes (Steve), Kelly D. Jordan (Alan) all of Conway; his former wife of 24 years Sherry D. Doyle ; his four grandchildren, Miranda Norris (Shaun), Chandler Hughes, Braden Hughes, and Grace Jordan all of Conway; his two great-grandchildren, Colin and Katelyn Norris; his brother, Rev. Ernie Doyle (Sonya) of Yauhannah; his sister, Christine Doyle Vereen of Myrtle Beach; and a special nephew, whom he loved as a son, Tommy Doyle (Carol) of White Oak, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Bill Thompson and Rev. Buddy Seay officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
