Obituary for Luminia "Mamaw" Floyd Conway...Luminia "Mamaw" Floyd, age 76, wife of the late H.G. "Shorty" Floyd, of Chevy Chase Dr., went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 18, 2015. Mrs. Floyd was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late James Thorbin and Ethel Milligan Causey. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devoted prayer warrior and worked passionately for the Lord for many years. Mrs. Floyd was a member of Conway Church of God for 50 plus years where she faithfully worked for the Lord in many areas of the church. Over the years, she served as Children's Church Director, Sunday School Teacher, Vice-President of the Women's Ministry and Choir member. She was involved in the 2004 groundbreaking ceremony of the new facility for the church at the current location on Cultra Road. Mrs. Floyd shared the love of Jesus with everyone she came in contact with. She was always about the Father's business witnessing and winning lost souls for Jesus or providing a word of encouragement to those in need. Her favorite scripture was "This is the day the Lord hath made; I will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24 She leaves a legacy to her family and friends of the power of prayer and her unfailing faith and trust in God and His word. Mrs. Floyd was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, H.G. "Shorty" Floyd, a brother, J.T. Causey and a sister, Patricia Sanquest. Surviving are two sons, Harold Floyd (Tammy) and Ray Floyd (Marie), two daughters, Wanda F. Johnson (Barry) and Teresa Baker (Danny), all of Conway, seven grandchildren, Tonya Morris, Randy Jacobs, Daniel Baker, Shane Floyd, Brandon Floyd, Staci Floyd, and Bradley Floyd, three step-grandchildren, Kim Johnson, Jeremy Johnson and Tonya Johnson, nine great-grandchildren and three on the way, one brother, Charles Causey (Cindy) of North Myrtle Beach , three sisters, Linda Petterson (David) of NC, Vivian Skipper (Billy) of Conway and Brenda Murray (Joey) of Little River, two sister-in-laws, Marilyn Small (George) of Conway and Julia Cooper (George) of Marion, one honorary brother-in-law, Milton VanAllman of TN, and many nieces and nephews. Homegoing services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Conway Church of God with Rev. Stuart Jacobs officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
