Patricia O Hardwick

Patricia (Pat) O’Donnell Hardwick, age 74, of Conway, SC entered eternal rest on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Conway Medical Center after a brief illness. Pat was born in Detroit, Michigan to Charles R. and Margaret Lester Givens O’Donnell. The O’Donnell Family moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee where Pat lived most of her youth and young adult life. Her family moved to Myrtle Beach when Pat was in high school. Pat is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. While at Coastal, she was also a cheerleader for the Chanticleers. She was a brilliant lady who easily impressed her superiors with her intellect, dedication, and initiative. Pat was employed as an Accountant with Horry County Schools for a number of years and there met the love of her life. She and Harrell were married on October 24, 1981 and were just 6 days short of celebrating their 43rd wedding anniversary. They were one another’s soulmate throughout their many years together. She was always a jokester and thoroughly enjoyed embarrassing others with her antics. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, wherein she would annually dress up and bring lots of laughter and cheer to all the neighborhood children. She was known to occasionally coerce Harrell into joining in the Halloween costume fun. Although she enjoyed Halloween, Christmas was always special. She would spend untold hours decorating the home for the holidays. Pat was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Conway for more than 35 years and enjoyed the Christian fellowship with others in the Faith Sunday School Class. In more recent years, she worshipped at North Conway Baptist Church where she shared her faith and beliefs with others. She came to love this church and was extremely proud of their Youth Ministry Program and the impact it was having on her two youngest grandchildren and others. Pat was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Mark O’Donnell. She is survived by her husband, Harrell, of the home; three children – Trish Puett (Bill Conrad) of Dallas, North Carolina; Skip Baker (Carol) of Conway; and Jennifer (Barrett) Grooms of Conway. She is survived by five grandchildren – Kennedy Grooms of Conway; Hudson Grooms of Conway; Kylie Puett of Chapel Hill, NC; Jared Anderson of Columbia, SC, and Ashton McGrady of Spring Hill, TN. She is survived by one brother, Mike (Frankie) O’Donnell of Murrells Inlet; and special cousins from Murfreesboro, Tennessee – Nita (Rick) Lawson; Jennie (Howard) Arnold; and Steve (Sherry) Givens. She is survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews who all loved her dearly. The visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, from 6PM until 8PM. Entombment services will be private at Hillcrest Cemetery.
