Rebecca "Becky" Timmons Cline

Rebecca Timmons Cline (Becky), 70 of Fair Play, SC passed away at her home on Sunday, December 8 following a prolonged illness with her husband and sister by her side. Becky, as she was more commonly called, was born in Conway, SC to Russell L. Timmons and Mildred Avin Timmons, both of Sumter, SC. She grew up in Conway, was an active member of the First Baptist Church during her youth and was a 1972 graduate of Conway High School. She went on to obtain her degree in nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina and lived most of her adult life in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Becky worked as a labor and delivery nurse for 34 years, first at MUSC and then at St. Francis, where she also served for many years as the nurse manager of the Labor and Delivery unit. During those years she earned her RNC and at one point she managed Labor and Delivery, Pediatrics and the Women’s Care floors at the same time. While she enjoyed leading and working with other nurses her real love was actively assisting families in bringing babies into the world. Just prior to retirement she went back to doing just that. She met and married the love of her life, Donnie Cline, and upon retirement finally settled in Fair Play. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband, her sister, Susan Timmons Phillips (Chris) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, two cherished nieces Miller Anne Phillips, and Avin Lee Phillips, both of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and a stepdaughter Cassie Cline (Brett Norton) of Chattanooga, TN. Funeral services will be held at Goldfinch Funeral Home Conway Chapel on Saturday, December 14, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
