Truman Clifford Rutt

Truman Clifford Rutt, 92, of Myrtle Beach, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Truman was born in Palmyra Township, Illinois, a son of the late Wesley and Ruth Erickson Rutt. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents are his first wife, Christine Rutt, who passed in 1995; two brothers, Gordon and Vincent Rutt. Surviving are his loving wife of almost 30 years, Elizabeth Rutt; children, Daniel Rutt and his wife, Debra, Clarissa Ray and her husband, John, Shawn Lengyel, and Joe Lengyel and his partner, Candy; grandchildren, Truman Ray and his wife Zoe, Brandon and his wife Michelle, and Trinity Lengyel. Truman passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, faith, and remarkable accomplishments that will never be forgotten. Truman loved his family, his friends, and above all, the Lord. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend to all who knew him. He had the kindest heart and was the type of person who made everyone feel welcomed, valued, and deeply cared for. He found great joy in the simple and meaningful things in life, spending time fishing, hunting, playing tennis, and working in the career that he truly loved as a physicist. Truman was admired not only for his brilliant mind and dedication to his work, but even more for his gentle spirit, generous nature, and unwavering love for those around him. Through his work, Truman made the world a better place. His patented inventions stand as a lasting reflection of his intelligence, creativity, and commitment to improving the lives of others. He approached his work with passion and purpose, and the impact of his contributions will continue far beyond his years. To his family, he was the best dad and husband anyone could ask for. To his friends, he was steady, sincere, and always there when needed. His faith in the Lord was evident in the way he lived, with grace, humility, compassion, and love. Truman will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the blessing of knowing him. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service.
