Lois Ricks Ammons

December 1, 1932 - November 28, 2021

Lois Ricks Ammons, 88, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday November 28, 2021 at her home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on December 1, 1932 in Conway, South Carolina to the late John Edward Ricks & Veta Vereen Ricks. Along with her parents, Lois is reunited in passing with her beloved husband, Mendel Ammons; brothers, Edison Ricks, Eugene Ricks & J.P Ricks; her sisters, Helen Stephens, Leona Thompson, Mayoma Pewdo, & Lovely Marlowe; as well as her grandson, Robert Pierce. Lois was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold. She was a skilled electronic component technician with AVX Corp. for many years. Following her well-deserved retirement, Lois was able to enjoy the finer things in life. She was an active member with Al-Anon and was a proud member of Sweetwater Branch Baptist Church. In her free time, Lois relished making memories with friends. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish Lois’ memory are her adoring daughter, Leveta Pierce and her husband, Gary of Murrells Inlet; grandchildren, Tara Pierce & Jonathan Pierce and his wife, Rae; adopted daughter, Barbara Cox; great-granddaughter, Madeline Pierce; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors. A Celebration of Lois’ life will be held on Wednesday December 1, 2021 at 2:00PM at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hwy 544, Conway, SC 29526. The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation, the kindness, care and compassion shown to them by everyone, especially from Amedisys Hospice and their dedicated staff.
