Mary Elizabeth Barrow

August 21, 1930 - September 3, 2021

On Friday September 3, 2021 Mary E Barrow 91 went home to be with the Lord. She was born to the late Tommy J Holland and Mollie Kelly Holland Marshall in Georgetown, KY. She was predeceased by her husband, Sandford C "Sandy" Barrow, her son, Stephen C Barrow and brother, David “Blackie” Holland. She is survived by her son, Michael W Barrow, daughter, Cheryl Barrow (Troy Ratliff), sister, June Waggoner and sister-in-law, Dale Clark. Mary was a graduate of Taft High School; Taft TX and attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Mary retired after 30 years civil service employment at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. Her positions included Base Operator at Shaw Air Force Base & Myrtle Beach Air Force Base; Base Supply Key Punch Operator & TMO Outbound Transportation Household Goods Inspector. As a longtime member since 1965 of Ocean View Baptist Church, she greeted everyone with a smile and big hug. She was a very loving and giving Mother; excellent seamstress, cook & baker; avid reader; Jeopardy watcher; devoted bird-watcher and world traveler. She loved people and never met a stranger. She was a Mom to many civilians and service people around the world. She loved to dance and could dance on roller skates. A Memorial Service will be held in celebration of her life 2:00 PM, Friday September 10, 2021, at Ocean View Baptist Church with visitation from at 1:00 PM until 1:50 PM in the church commons area prior to her services.
