Donna Jeanne (Nelson) Hardiman

Donna Jeanne Hardiman, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday December 12, 2022 at her home in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. She was born on October 1, 1937 in Kasson, Minnesota to the late Howard R. Nelson & Fern L. Frost Nelson. Along with her parents, Donna is reunited in passing with her husband, Martin J. Hardiman; sons Kevin Barry Hardiman, Charles Daniel Dennis, Stephen Brian Hardiman, Joseph Peter Hardiman, & Martin Bruce Hardiman; grandsons; Richard Hardiman, Kevin Todd Hardiman; and brothers Jim Nelson and Bob Nelson. Donna was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold. She was the proud owner of her and her husband’s company, in the construction industry in MA. During the 80’s she was president of NAWIC, National Association of Women in Construction, Boston chapter. She moved to SC in 1990. In her free time, Donna relished the wind on her face and sun warm on her shoulders while at the golf course with Marty. She was a member of Surfside Beach Baptist Church for over 32 years. Above all else, Donna loved her family, and her rescue fur babies with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish Donna’s memory are her sons; Michael S Hardiman (Virginia) of NH & Son- Peter M. Hardiman (Debbie) of MA and daughter, Denice Hardiman Thurlow (Tom) of Surfside Beach, SC; grandchildren, Christine, Nicholas, Julie, Benjamin, Ryan, Tracy, Nathan, Josh, Vivienne, Elizabeth, Matthew, Donna, Czar, Emerald, William, Michael Jr., Pauline; brother, Richard Nelson and wife, Mary, of MN; sisters in-law, Loah & Joan Nelson of MN; daughter in-law Linda Hardiman of CT, daughter in-law Marie Hardiman of NH, daughter in-law Diane Murray of VA as well as 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren and an army of nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive special friends and neighbors. A graveside service in Celebration of Donna’s life will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hwy 544, Conway, SC 29526. January 21st at 2pm.
