Janice Andrea Del Rossi

Janice Andrea Britten Del Rossi, 68, passed away on Sunday, June 12th, 2023, at her home in Myrtle Beach, SC, following a valiant battle with cirrhosis of the liver and metastatic breast cancer, which was diagnosed only several months ago. Her devoted husband and beloved children were by her side. Jan was born December 21st, 1954, in Rhawnhurst, Northeast Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Andrew J. Britten and the late Nancy Hess Britten. Upon graduation from high school, Janice earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Retail Management from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, which propelled her into prestigious career positions with Macy’s Harold Square in NY, A & S Department Store in NY, Petrie Women’s Fashions, Hermans World of Sporting Goods, Sears Department Stores and Sonepar-Cooper Electric. Janice married Charles J. Del Rossi in June of 1976 and they were happily married for 47 years. She also put her career on hold for 13 years to become a full-time mother, wife, and homemaker when she and her husband Charlie adopted two beautiful infants (now Kristin & Andrew Del Rossi) from Seoul, Korea through Love the Children International. “That was the busiest but yet most meaningful, fruitful and blessed time of my life,” she would say, as she dove into loving and raising them with all her heart. Janice was a caring mother and was highly involved in their upbringing, care, education, and arts development, i.e., Love the Children Play Groups, nursery school, gymnastics, dance, piano, guitar, singing and swimming lessons, and then later in Church Choir, Church Childrens Club ministries, etc. Janice also loved cats and dogs, of which she had many throughout her life. She also loved making crafts and home decorations and she went on a craft home decorating spree over the years to decorate her home, her sister’s, her mother’s, and in-laws’ homes over the years. Jan also loved to sing, and she was involved in her church choirs for many years. She was also a dedicated Christian teacher, leading home women’s bible study groups, as well as being the director of the Pioneers Girls Clubs Ministries for 10 years at Trinity Bible Church where her family attended. In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Ann Britten, as well as her maternal grandparents Emil and Ann Hess, and paternal grandparents Andrew and Eva Britten Sr. Janice is survived by her husband Charles J. Del Rossi, her daughter Kristin Del Rossi, and her son Andrew Del Rossi. A graveside service to honor Janice will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 10:30 AM at the Hillcrest Cemetery Mausoleum Open Air Chapel (1000 Hwy 544, Conway, SC, 29526). Rev.
