Kenneth Lee Amberg

Ken unexpectedly passed away at the young age of 64, on July 3rd 2018, at Waccamaw Community Hospital, while surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born in Newark, New Jersey to Aleen and Joseph Amberg. Ken resided in New Jersey with his wife Pam until 2015 when they relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to enjoy their much deserved retirement. Ken enjoyed many hobbies; some of the closest to him were manicuring his beloved lawn, fishing, cruisin’ the Intracoastal Waterway with his wife on their pontoon boat, taking care of his Granddogs, mastering the art of Snapchat video’s and spending time with his family. Ken would never deny a friendly game of mini golf, these matches would many times turn highly competitive where Ken knew no limits to win. Ken was the most family oriented man, sometimes driving hundreds of miles one way to spend time with his children. There was no distance to far and no reason to small for him, he would hop into his truck and drive just to get breakfast. Ken was a proud father attending all of his children’s graduations and ceremonies no matter where in the country they were located. Ken enjoyed taking annual family vacations; they included many cruises and camping trips to both Disney and Myrtle Beach. Prior to his retirement in 2007, Ken was a 25 year member to Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 25 in Carlstadt, New Jersey. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Pamela Amberg of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; His oldest daughter Susan Fisher and her husband Karl, His son Nicholas Amberg and his wife Ilaina, His youngest daughter Stacy Peer and her husband Colton; His sister Sandi Zack and her husband Ed, His sister in law Paula Amberg; His many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews; and not to forget a man’s best friend his dog Randy. Ken is preceded by his Mother and Father, Aleen and Joseph Amberg; His brother Joseph “Bud” Amberg. Services for Ken will be held on July 9th, 2018 at Burroughs Funeral Home located at 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. The viewing will begin at 11:00 A.M., then at 12:30 there will be a service followed by a short ride to Hillcrest Cemetery located at 1000 SC-544, Conway, SC 29526. Immediately following there will be a reception to remember all the great memories Ken has left us with, it will be held at the Clubhouse in Sterling Pointe on Woodhaven Drive, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
