Obituary for Lois Stanley Long Cannon Lois Stanley Long Cannon, age 95, died on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at her son's residence in Conway, SC. She was born on June 28, 1919 in Loris, SC, a daughter of the late Wayland H. and Bertha Rhodes Stanley of Loris. She had a very sharp mind up until the very end and she always attributed that to what she learned attaining her Business Degree from Agnes Business College for Women in Atlanta. Lois was strong willed which allowed her to survive in this world for so long and navigate it like she did. She had such a love for birds and knew every type of flower there was. Lois probably crocheted more than 50 plus afghans for her family. She is predeceased by: her first husband and the father of her children, Ben Long of Conway, SC; her second husband, James A. Cannon of Clayton, GA; her father, Wayland H. Stanley of Loris, SC; her mother, Bertha Rhodes Stanley of Loris, SC; her oldest sister, Iris Buddin of Wilmington, NC; another sister, Louise Somers of North Myrtle Beach; her younger brother, Julian C. Stanley of Loris, SC, who died in combat in WWII; and her great-granddaughter Cristen Nichole Daniels of Conway, SC. Mrs. Cannon is Survived by: her son, Franklin Julian Long (Net) of Conway, SC; her daughter, Frances Long Rabon (Jimmy) of Conway, SC; two brothers, George Fletcher Stanley of Edmond, OK and Harold G. Stanley of Charleston, SC and one sister, Mary Currie of Loris, SC; six granddaughters, Sheila Rabon Daniels (Buddy) of Conway, SC, Sharon Long Smith (Stewart) of Murrells Inlet, SC, Cristal Rabon Causey (Richard) of Conway, SC, Kathy Long Wuchenich (Chris) of Lexington, SC, Natalie Rabon Davidson (Jay) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Stephanie Rabon of Conway, SC; ten great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; plus many beloved nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Services will be held at the Goldfinch Chapel in Conway on Tuesday at 11:00 AM and a Private Burial at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
