Virginia Geraldine (McArthur) Burdick

Virginia Geraldine Burdick September 21, 1931 - January 31, 2016 Virginia McArthur Burdick, 84, of Lone Oak Ln., Mooresville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 31, 2016, at her home. Born September 21, 1931, in Mullins, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Lester and Minnie Belle Rogers McArthur. In addition to her parents, Ms. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Albert Burdick and youngest brother, William Lester McArthur, Jr. After having lived in Mooresville the past several years, she still thought of Myrtle Beach, SC as home as that was where she had originally retired and called home for almost two decades. She had a full and adventuresome life. She had moved to many places and held many different job titles but had always been in the service industry, from hotel management to her last job at Rite Aid Pharmacy in Mooresville as a sales associate. Although a very independent person, she had a warm and giving heart. She was very intelligent, quick witted, loved and respected by friends and colleagues. This is what made her perfect for the careers that she held. Ms. Virigina is survived by a son, Lester Burdick and wife, Nita; daughter, Teresa Burdick Frye and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Charles (Suzie) Yarborough, Wendy (Josh) Turbyfill, Roy (Nikki) Frye, Kelly (Misty) Frye, Shannon (Charles) Kimbrell; great grandchildren, Bailey, Michael, Abigail, Emma, Austin, Hunter, Anna, Tanner, Bradon and Camdon; brothers, Buddy and Billy McArthur; sister, Rose Ellen Lawson; and her beloved pet, Prissy. The family will receive friends from 6 - 7:30 PM on Thursday, February 4 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. Services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery Chapel, Conway, SC, on Saturday, February 6 at 2:00 PM. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
